SPONSORSHIP POLICY
Bucton Racing
Team (BRT) has developed this policy as a guide to developing
a partnership between the sponsor and the BRT team.
3.1
Background
Due to BRT being
a non profit organisation and motor sport being a expensive
sport, sponsorship is what keeps the BRT team on the race
track and competitive.BRT
over the years has had and have several sponsors from within
the automotive industry who support a full season and some
from other industries, who just love motorsports and sponsor
individual events e.g. Bathurst and National Titles. The
approach BRT has with a company/business is long-term, win-win
partnership with the sponsor. In return BRT will market
the products and
or services of the company/business in return for their
sponsorship.
3.2
Definitions
Sponsor is when
a Company or Business buys sponsorship rights which is granted
by BRT. Sponsorship is an investment in the BRT team which
yields a commercial return for the sponsor. The investment
can be made in monetary terms, products and/or services.
3.3
Exclusions
BRT have a couple
of exclusions that can't be entered into a sponsorship deal.
1. Sponsorship involving tobacco. Due to government legislation.
2. New sponsorship with a company/business in the same occupation
as a BRT sponsor. Keeping loyalty to a sponsor.
3. Sponsors cannot take control or the running of BRT; BUT
their input will be taken with pleasure.
3.4
Procedures
1. BRT team
members hear of a company/business that may be looking at
lifting their profile in the business community.
2. The team owner will follow up on the lead.
3. From the first meeting a sponsorhsip agreement will be
drawn up.
4. If all parties agree, the sponsorship agreement will
be signed .
5. The team owner will maintain and service the sponsor.
3.5
Accountability
Selling of sponsorship
- BRT team owner and secretary.
Ensuring funds are accounted for, if dealing in money -
Secretary.
Maintaining and servicing sponsors - BRT owner, secretary
and team members.
3.6

The BRT owner
is responsible for approving any sponsorship agreements.
3.7
Review and evaluation
This policy
will be reviewed every six (6) months or at the beginning
of the racing season, to keep the policy up to date. The
team owner with team members will review this policy. If
there are any changes to this policy it well be communicated
to all those involved through a team newsletter, which will
be sent to the sponsor after each race meeting or there
after.
